Rescue Endovascular Treatment of Patients With Emergent Large Vessel Occlusion Attributed to Intracranial Atherosclerosis: A Systematic Review and Meta?Analysis

چکیده
Background Patients with acute stroke presenting large vessel occlusion secondary to intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS?LVO) may require rescue therapy (RT) in addition mechanical thrombectomy achieve and maintain successful recanalization. We performed a systematic review meta?analysis of comparative studies that reported outcomes RT patients ICAS?LVO evaluate its safety efficacy. Methods Databases searched include PubMed, CINAHL Complete, Scopus from database date inception through August 17, 2021. included the compared who did not undergo or those embolic (non–ICAS?LVO). Meta?analysis using random?effects model was used combine estimates reporting odds ratios (ORs) 95% CIs. Results A total 9 nonrandomized were included: 5 versus non?RT analysis non?ICAS LVO analysis. Rescue treatments intra?arterial antiplatelets, angioplasty, stenting, combination treatments. Compared ICAS?LVO, associated an increased favorable 90?day outcome (OR, 3.19 [95% CI, 1.91–5.32]; I 2 = 14%) decreased mortality 0.35 0.16–0.76]; 21%). In LV, incidence differ between non–ICAS?LVO 0.97 0.58–1.64; 50%]; OR, 1.22 0.90–1.66; 0%], respectively). Conclusions treatment is likely better ICAS?LVO. The receive be comparable

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is one of the most common infections that affects humans’ cardiovascular system. Although the literature includes controversial evidence for any correlation between CMV infection and arterial atherosclerosis, the majority of studies, especially those with larger patient population and stronger data stand for such a relationship. However, the number of prospective...
متن کاملEndovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms in elderly patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Use of endovascular coiling for treatment of ruptured and unruptured intracranial aneurysms (IAs) in the elderly is increasing. We performed a meta-analysis of the literature examining clinical and angiographic outcomes for treatment of IAs in the elderly. METHODS We performed a comprehensive review of the literature from 1995 to 2012, reporting series of patients ≥65 y...
متن کاملEndovascular Management of Stroke Patients with Large Vessel Occlusion and Minor Stroke Symptoms
Endovascular mechanical thrombectomy for stroke patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO) in the anterior circulation has become the standard of care based on several major randomized clinical trials. The successful result reported by these trials constitutes what may be the largest achievement in the history of neurological sciences. However, most of these mechanical thrombectomy trials (exce...
متن کاملPredictors of Infarct Growth in Patients with Large Vessel Occlusion Treated with Endovascular Therapy
Introduction Endovascular therapy (EVT) is now evidence based in anterior circulation stroke caused by large vessel occlusion. Outcome is related to infarct size, but data on predictors of infarct growth is limited. We analyzed our cohort of EVT treated patients primarily selected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to examine predictors of infarct growth and the association between infarct siz...
